Granville Combs, 78 Granville Pearl Combs, 78, 628 Irvine Road, Clay City, husband of Fannie Jane Eversole Combs, died Sunday, February 21, at his home. He was born Sept 16, 1931 in Knott Co to the late John Cannon and Mahala Godsey Combs. He was a retired trucking company owner and operator, mechanic and a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Fannie Combs of Clay City; a son, Jeff and his wife Kim Combs of Jackson; daughters Johnnie Gay and husband David Lovins, Dwarf, Ida Mae Combs, Clay City, Cherise Renee and husband Ike Gabbard Watkins, Stamping Ground; step-daughter, Winnie Bush, Hazard; brother, Elmer Combs, Clay City; sister Anna Faye Hudson, Ary; grandchildren, Loretta Moore, Susan Pratt, Michael Paul Watkins, Jessica Watkins, John Combs and Donald Combs; step-children, Amanda Williams, Nichole Bush and Suvannah Bush; two great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild. He was preceeded in death by his parents; wife Ruby; daughter Mary Elizabeth Combs; brothers, Clifford, Sam and Orville Combs; and sister Dorothy Robinson. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb 24 at 1 pm at Wells Clay City Chapel by Rev Gary Willoughby and Rev Gus Dean with burial at the Combs Family Cemetery, Irvine Road, Clay City with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
