Did you happen to ask Larry about the Van Martin? In the Red River Historical Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 1 1994 -- there is a picture of V. C. Martin (bob o link) and his family in front of their home at Chop Chestnut. There is also a little information about the family. I also believe there was another article about him in another issue. Not sure.... Larry sells back issues of the newsletter. You might like to contact him. I believe he will know exactly what he has on the Martin.
