According to the 1850 census F.M. is listed as born 1837 and female, then in the 1860 census F.M. is listed as born 1835 and male. I can understand the dates because some of it is the month the census was taken, but the sex change has thrown me. Then in the 1870 census there is a Francis M born 1861 Male and in the 1880 census A Miram female listed as born 1863. Oh for a family Bible about now. Was there a Francis Marion born about 1835 and another one born about or was one a male named Francis Marion and the othe a female named Frances Mariam?? And the one that married Betty Ann Holder was that one born in 1835 or 1861 approx. Oh and on the 1870 census there is a Thomas age 24 b-1836 but he does not appear on the 1860 census. Dare I ask HELP!! I have William Harrison Hatton married 1st to Judy Ann Eaton, 2nd to Agnes Estes (might be Agnes Agatha) and 3rd to Patsy Mastin. Oh and I have th! e Mary in the 1850/1860 census born about 1848/49 as the same person as listed in the 1870 census as Polly. And has anyone else noticed that Patsy is listed as the name of Williams wife on the 1850 thru 1880 census, but that she is gradually getting younger, born 1817 on the 1850 census but born 1830 on the 1880 census. I would like to get 13 years younger in 30 years have to learn her secret. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
