There is a William A Conway b. 1883 listed in the 1900 Menifee County, Ky., census, ED 69, hh 72. His father is shown as John J Conway, a farmer, living at Rothwell, District 4. There are also some Spencer families living in the vicinity. This may well be your family. Hope this helps.
