Pike Co. marriage records indicate that Hudson (Hutson) BLACKBURN signed for his daughter Mary Ann BLACKBURN to wed James ROBINSON on January 21, 1841, in Pike Co. Richard ROBINSON signed for his son James. James and Mary Ann had a son, Daniel Madison ROBINSON, born in august 1842. On January 6, 1848, Pike Co. records also indicate the marriage of William JUSTICE and a Mary Ann BLACKBURN, evidently now divorced (or widowed), and retaining her maiden name. A couple of years later, in the 1850 Pike Co. census, just 2 doors down from Hudson BLACKBURN, Madison ROBINSON, now 8 yrs. old, is living with William JUSTICE and his mother Mary Ann, even though the census taker apparently failed to pick up his ROBINSON surname. I have not yet located another record of James and Mary Ann ROBINSON anywhere in KY in the 1850 census, but I'm still looking. Ten years later, in 1860, Madison ROBINSON, now 18, is living nearby with another relative, Hiram K. BEVINS and his wife Luna Lesley BEVINS. There is a James ROBINSON (age 40) showing up a few houses away, living with Luna 's brother, Pharmer LESLEY. This COULD be Madison's father, if James and Mary Ann did divorce, but that is just speculation. I would appreciate any information on these ROBINSON and BLACKBURN families. Gary E.
