Does anyone know the story of John Johnson who died during the Civil War. He was shot or hung by the Confederates. There are a couple of variations to the story. He was a civilian and about 16 at the time. Does anyone know of any battles or skirmishes fought in Eastern KY? I found a book on it at the LDS FHS in Salt Lake City. It told the story in detail. I found it close to closing time so couldn't copy it. Then when I went back could never find it again. Then the Center personell told me it was "misplaced" or in other words lost or stolen. When my info got destroyed, so did the name of the book. I am beginning to think I imagined it all. I do remember the book was written in the 1800's. Any Help would be appreciated.
