He was hung in Wise Co., VA, but buried in Letcher Co. He was a son of David Hall. One reference is found below: __________From files of The Tackett Family Assn._________ *SUBJECT [Talton Hall]: See lengthy article, w/photo, on TALTON "Bad Talt" HALL in issue 2:3 (1997) of "Old Floyd Co., KY Families," as compiled by Nancy Wright Bayes, 3309 Ohio River Rd., Greenup, KY 41144. She gives dob as 1846 on the Little Carr Fork or Trace Fork of Rockhouse Creek, a branch of Beaver Creek, in Letcher Co., KY. [Other references will be found on the Letcher Co., KY GenWEB page.] _______________________ And, there was the Pike Co. hanging of Henry "Red Bill" Hall, 1860-1893, son of Reuben. A reference for this: *BIOGRAPHY: See "The Life and Confession of Henry Hall," pub. by Riddle Brothers, Pikeville, KY, 1893. [Planned for reprinting in "Old Floyd Co., KY Families," by Cornelius Carroll.] I have a copy of the the well-known photo of Henry Hall being baptized by Congressman and [Old Reg. Baptist] Elder N.T. Hopkins the day before Henry was hung in 1893. These old photos, reproduced on post cards, were probably sold "by the hundreds." I also have a bust photo of Henry, courtesy of the late E. Fred Johnson of Etty. Jim W. Tackitt, 1830 Johnson Dr., Concord, CA 94520; <jtackitt@jps.net> *************************************************************** Tackett Assn.
