List Members, Many of you are searching SE Kentucky in more than one county so I am posting this here also. My John W. Collins, son Of Meredith Collins (1760-1841) of Pike Co., disappears from his father's household after the 1820 census. I figure he left his father's house to marry first wife. Last week a record was found in the Clay County Court Records ,April 1852. Brenda, On Clay County Court Order film of VOL 5 bottom of Page 8 there is something and for the life of me I cannot read what it says but " For ------ by John Collins, Mary Roark & David Patrick charged with fely(felony?) each $4.00?" on next page it reads: " Ordered that William Coldwell be allowed $2.29 for guarding John Collins & 3 days charged with felony which was ordered to be certified. WV census 1860&70 show three children with this couple Alfred born 1853 (year after this court record) Arnetta born 1855, and Richard born 1858 (my ggrandfather) Also in Floyd County annuels there is mention of a Richard Collins which would be older than my Richard.
