All my mothers ancestors settled there in 1800-1820. BELLARs came no later than 1814, possible several years prior. (That was meant as humor!) In Pike Co., KY my only known relatives are CLARK and ETTER. Evidently, Ken Burke is my third cousin and lives in Pikeville. any of his CLARK / ETTER ancestors would be mine, too. He seems to be better informed on this than I am. I suggest you contact him if interested in more on them (his e-address is under cc: above). I have living relatives on my mother's side: BELLAR. Although they moved to Pikeville some time ago, the history of the family is really in Pike Co., OH. Earl BELLAR was my second cousin. I think Dorothy's SAYLERS (or SAYLORS) are from around that area. That's why they settled there. I know nothing about her family, not even how to spell the name, for sure. Contact her if the name means something to you. On the other hand, if BELLAR strikes a cord, I definitely do want to hear from you ... cousin. Happy hunting ... -- Rod.Bias@ASU.Edu Rodney L.
