KY. July 19, 1848 by Abram Cantrell. Has Sarah name , for some reason (Laska). Louise Vanover Vore (THANKS) RUSSELL COUNTY - VIRGINIA AMBROSE HAMON was born November 20, 1776, came to Russell County, March 1796. Records of Land Causes 1, page 211. JOHN HAMMOND’S will - dated April 4, 1816: probated June 4, 1816: his property to his mother Elizabeth Hammonds - one tract of land. Montgomery County, Virginia: WB 3 , page 183. JOHN GRIZZEL and his wife Elizabeth, Thomas Francis and wife Jean, Ambrose Hamon, William Grizzel and wife Rebecker, Robert Hamon and his wife Rachel, Joel Fields and wife Nancy, James Chaffin and wife Sarah, all of Russell County ---- heirs of John Hamon, dec’d conveyed to John Hamon 2 tracts - 10 1/2 acres and 76 acres- on both sides of Dumps Creek, by deed dated April 13, 1816 . DB 5, page 468. JOHN HAMON - Inventory of his estate, Dec. 14, 1826. WB 4, page 332. MARY HAMON , widow, John Hamon and Margaret (Peggy) his wife, James Hamon and Lucinda his wife, Esau Hamon and Elizabeth his wife, Elijah---force and Mahala his wife, John Smith and Elizabeth his wife, and infants - Robert Hamon , William Hamon, ---------Hamon, Rebeckah Hamon, and ---vid Hamon, the heirs of John Hamon, deceased, conveyed to William Grizzle 40 acres of land on Middle Forks of Dumps Creek by deed dated April 1, 1835. DB 9, page 532. The same heirs and the following additional heirs : Robert Hamon’s wife Nancy, William Hamon’s wife Belinda, and William Ferrell and Rebeckah his wife conveyed to Joseph Kiser 2 tracts - 30 acres and 38 acres- on lefthand fork of Dumps Creek, by deed dated August 30, 1842. DB 11, page 220. (NOTE by EJS : John Hamon’s deed to this property was dated December 10, 1818.) ROBERT HAMON gave bond as constable , June 6, 1809, Berry Robinson and Abraham Childress his sureties.
