William Ramey produced in open court the last will and testament of Moses Ramey deceased, which was proven by the oath of Mathew Ramey and John Adams and the same is ordered to be recorded according to law. I Moses Ramey of Pike County and State of Kentycky do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say: 1st. I desire after all my outstanding debts may be emmediatly collected as they may become due and out of the money arising therefrom all my just debts and funeral expense paid and if any outstanding debts should prove insufficiant, then I desire that my administrator here after named may sell as much of my perishable property as will pay the remainder part that may remainder paid out of the money arising from the collection of my outstanding debts. 2ly. After the payment of debts and funeral expenses I give my wife Tabitha Ramey all the remainder part of my Estate both real and personal of description during her natural life or so long as she remains my widow to enable her to raise my four last children, namely Polly Ramey, Elizabeth Ramey, Frances Ramey and Anny Ramey, but if my wife Tabitha Ramey intermarries with another man during her natural life then I desire that she shall have but 1/3 part of my estate both real and personal and my administrator take care of 2/3. 3ly. I desire that my wife or administrator do pay the four last children one bed and furniture and one flex wheel and one sow and pigs each to be equal with such as I have given my elder children. 4th. That my four last children above named hold a note each on Mathew Ramey my son for two second rate cows and calves now if Mathew Ramey proves insolviant and unable to pay the above notes then my wife or my administrator is to pay the said children the cows and calves out of my Estate, hereto from named. 5th. There is a contract existing between myself and Henry P. Carty, my nephew. That is to know said Henry P. Carty is to live with me till he comes to his 21 year of age or becomes a housekeeper and be a good condition and industry then I am to give hime one horse, bridle and saddle but if he fails on his part he is to have nothing. 6ly. And after my Wife Tabitha Ramey Desceased that all the remainding part of my Estate both real and personal may be equaly divided between all of my several children, which I give them their heirs executors administratos and___________________________________ forever ___________________. AND lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint friend William Ramey Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made in writing whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this eighth (8th) day of March 1851.
