It is possible Sarah Jane Smith was a sister to Matilda Jane Smith who was married to John Thorpe, but it has not been proven. Elijah may be a son of William Casey and Zilphia Hines. William Casey was born 1774 died 1834 and married Zilphia c1909. William was a son of Micjah Casey (1745-c1800) and Sarah Casey. This info. came from a book about Wayne Co., NC title unknown.
