Hello, Seekers. Sometimes if your - or an ancestor's - surname is the same as a famous or well-known person, regardless of occupation, it may pay you to search for the bio/obit of the well-known individual. Many times, these bios will list where the person is from and whom his/her parents were. Not all 'famous' people change their given names to a 'stage name', so I highly recommend using a search engine, such as www.google.com or any of your choice, to locate what you can on the well-known person. It is an avenue that should not be overlooked in your searching...and it doesn't cost you anything except some of your time. Also - remember to search for variations in spelling: so very important. Good Searching - Good Luck! Shirley: [email protected]
