    1. [KYPIKE] Francisco/Curry connections
    2. Laura Loding
    3. I have found the following information in Pike Co., KY, and I'm trying to figure out who these "Curry's" are. 1. There is a death record for a Sarah Francisco b. abt 1847 died 1877 who's parents are listed as Curry. I have not found a marriage record, however I do find a Sarah with Patrick Francisco and daughter Jane in the 1870 census. In 1880 Patrick and Jane are listed with no mother/wife. 2. I'm also trying to find the marriage record for Samuel Francisco 1 May 1870 Pike Co. KY. He is listed in the 1880 census with wife Phoebe. I am trying to determine her maiden name and parents. Thanks! Laura Curry Loding Hayes, VA www.loganwv.net <http://www.loganwv.net/>

    1. [KYPIKE] 1855 Branham divorce
    2. Rex Bertram
    3. Hi all. While researching for myself and a couple of clients in Frankfort, KY, at the State Archives, I came across the 1855 Pike County divorce case of Samuel and Milly Branham. I thought it might be useful to others, so I have scanned it, and placed the document on my webpage. To view the document, go to my webpage at www.digginbones.com . Click the "Records on Site" link, on the left side of the page. On that page, you will see links to several records; one of which is "KY - Pike County - 1855 Divorce of Samuel & Milly Branham" Hope the document helps someone. Rex Bertram 132 S. 1. [KYPIKE] May Graveyard
    2. Paul Sabol
    3. Back in May I had posted a request that if anyone was going to be headed to the May graveyard if they could get a photo of Dellsena Williams grave. Someone had replied that there were several May cemeteries in that area. I still have not been able to accurately identify which May graveyard she would have been in. The cemeteries I was told about were "Up Octavia Hollow, William Jefferson May Cem. behind home of Ricky Edmondson, two more high on the Mountain and across from Sadie King home place, up May Fork, Wash May Cem., in a pine grove behind Whitt family homes on left side, another up on the road going across the Mtn. toward Blackberry, also on left side of road." I would like to ask that if anyone is headed to any of these May cemeteries if they could do a quick look to see which one Dellsena may be interred at and perhaps a photo or two of the cemetery and her headstone. I could provide a little compensation for the time and gas money. Dellsena was born July 19, 1893 in Jackson County, Ohio and died July 24, 1926 in McAndrews, Pike County, Kentucky. She wouldn't be buried with her husband as he outlived her, remarried, moved to West Virginia and then back to Ohio where he died in 1978. I'm way over near Elizabethtown, KY and don't think I'll be able to get over to Pike County anytime within the next couple of years due to work and family commitments. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing. 2. My 2nd great grandparents were Blackburn Sturgell and Lucinda Clay. We have always been told that Lucinda was Native American. However she is listed in census records as the daughter Jane Clay and Andrew Jackson Akers signed for her to marry Blackburn. Is there a birth record proving that Jane Clay was the mother of Lucinda? Or does anyone know Jane's ancestry? The reason that I ask is because I recently came across a picture of Blackburn and Lucincda's grandchildren taken at a family reunion and there definitely Native American there somewhere. Any help with this would be of great help. Anita McClung </HTML>

    1. [KYPIKE] Andrew Hale, Lessie Authur, "Rosetta "Leah" Hale
    2. Hi I am brand new to the mailing list since I found a Pike county connection so here goes... I am searching for information on Andrew Franklin Hale and assorted kinfolk. There was a marriage license issued in Bristol VA on Oct 1, 1915 for Andrew Franklin Hale age 22, born in Sullivan county TN, laborer and employee of AH Burroughs, son of R.L. and Eva Hale and Lessie Authur, born in Corbin KY child of F.M. and Alice Luthur. It was returned signed indicating they had married. on his draft registration card he listed his occupation as teamster and on the 1930 census he indicated he was a coal miner. Because there are no coal mines anywhere near Sullivan county TN or Bristol I am assuming he went into that area to work (since he married a local girl from there) By 1919 he had married again. Leah Hale was his first cousin and gave birth on Jan 24, 1924 to Ottie Victor Hale in Pike county KY. Apparently she never married the father and returned to Bristol at some point because in the 1930 census we find her son living with his grandmother (her mom) but she was not in the home. The grandmother received a check each month for his care from 1931-1934 from an account that was listed "RH Goodwin vs Pochantas Fuel Company". Any information on ANY of this would be greatly appreciated Thanks Becky actively researching Hales and Baldwins at the moment one for each side of the family ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
