I've "rescued" an old photograph of Margaret Bass WALKER which was taken in Pikeville, KY in August of 1903. Margaret is noted as 22 months old at the time the photograph was taken. I am hoping to locate someone from Margaret's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this WALKER Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

I'm searching for information regarding my grandmother who 'may' have lived in Hurricane for some period of time between 1930-1939. Margaret E Bannon was listed correctly in Bowling Green KY on 1930 census, then disappears from view until correctly showing on the 1940 census in Illinois. the 1940 census indicates she lived in "Hurricane, HART, Ky" in 1935. I find nothing for a Hurricane in Hart county, but in Pike county. Seems unlikely she would have moved to Pike cty by herself at 65 yo, not having (known) connections in that area. Any suggestions for trying to identify her in the very small community of Hurricane, Pike cty? Any information on the community of Hurricane, Pike, farming, mining, health facilities etc in 1935?

I know that the death records were a part of the "Kentucky Vital Records Project" and I thought the marriage records were as well. However, I am now only able to find the death records. Could someone help me find the marriage records again, please. Much appreciated. While researching the parents of my 3rd great grandmother, I have come upon a huge mystery which I need to figure out. My 3rd gtreat grandmother was Lucinda Clay who married Blackburn Sturgell. Lucinda's parents were James Clay, s/o Jordan Clay and Mary Cartier and Jane Akers, d/o John Akers and Rebecca Ratliff. I have not been able to find a marriage date for James and Jane but I do have the names of their children; Lucinda as mentiioned above, Rebecca Clay who married John Johnson, Victoria Clay marrried Sylvester Rogers, Susannah Clay who married Eli Rhey (Ray, Lydia Clay who married William Irick and Matilda Clay who married John W. Sword. Now, apparently, my James Clay passed away between the 1840 and 1850 and in the 1850, widow Jane Clay with daughter, Victoria is living in the home of her daugher, Lucinda and son in law, Blackburn Sturgell. Here is where it gets tricky...apparently there was a Melinda Jane Akers who married another James Clay, also in Floyd County. I have seen the marriage date as July 20, 1826. This couple eventually moved into what is now Wayne County, WV where they lived out the rest of their lives. These two couples are so mixed up in people's research and it is all twisted and confused. Does anyone know who this other James Clay and Melinda Jane Akers is? Who are the parents? Does anyone have a marriage date for my James Clay and Jane Akers? Anita McClung Fayette County, WV
