He is survived by his wife, Billie Maggard of Vicco; son Cody Ray Maggard of Vicco; mother Phoebe Maggard of Vicco; brothers Charles Maggard, Jr. and wife Pamela of Vicco and Michael Maggard of Vicco; sisters Mary Lou Feltner and husband Romas of Vicco and Margaret Popp and husband Keith of Vicco; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard where the visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, October 24. Services will immediately follow with Merrill David Collins officiating. ******************************************* Rachel Bush Rachel Collins Bush, 75, departed this life on Friday, October 21 at the Hazard ARH. She was born in Perry County, the daughter of the late Martha Collins, and she was also preceded in death by her husband Van Bush; sons McKinley Bush, Johnny Bush and George Bush; daughter Janet Bush; and great-granddaughter Karleigh Langdon. Rachel was a life-long resident of Perry County, a member of the Lost Creek Pentecostal Church, and was a big prankster, loving to joke. She is survived by sons Brad Bush and wife Kim, Elmer Bush and wife Sue and Denver Bush and wife Dessie all of Krypton; daughters Frankie Gambill, Mona Napier and husband Herman, Margaret Stidham and husband Richard, and Jeanie Caudill and husband Richard all of Krypton; 22 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, October 24 at the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel on Morton Blvd. with Bill Gambill and Jim Sluss officiating. The Interment followed in the Bush Cemetery at Ten Mile. ********************************************* Tim Campbell Tim Campbell, 50, passed away on Friday, October 21 at his home in Viper. He is survived by his mother, Larnia Campbell of Viper; sister Vickie Carole Sallee and husband Stephen of Winchester; aunt Pauline Roberts of Manchester; cousin Scotty Roberts of Wilmore, Ky. along with a host of family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper where the visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 23. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard. ********************************************** Della Melton Della Melton, 91, of Combs, died Thursday, October 20 at the Hazard ARH medical center. She was the daughter of the late Al Eversole and the late Nancy Alice Combs Eversole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Melton; sisters Marie Browning, Laura Melton, Sally Cole and Sue Cole; and brothers Irvin and Jesse Eversole. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 21. Services will be begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 with Elmer Barger officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard *********************************************** Cash Eversole Cash Eversole, 76, died Thursday, October 20 at the Hazard ARH medical center. He was born in Perry County, the son of the late Clarence Eversole and the late Ellen Vanover Eversole. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jesse Eversole, and brother Everett Eversole. Cash was a life-long resident of Perry County and was a Freewill Baptist preacher. He is survived by his wife, Bessie Eversole of Big Creek; son Jack Eversole and wife Barbara of Big Creek; daughters Janice Eversole of Avawam and Judy Johnson and husband Jim of Viper; brothers - Billy Ray Eversole and wife Betty of Big Creek, Virgil Eversole and wife Pam of Big Creek, David Eversole and wife Mary Ann of Big Creek, Bobby Eversole and wife Maxine of Lothair, Fred Eversole of Big Creek and Jack Eversole of Big Creek; sisters Edith Hamilton and husband Bob of Big Creek, Loretta Tucker and husband James of Big Creek and Shirley Baker and husband Bert of Big Creek; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 23 at noon at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Billy Ray Eversole and Johnnie Akers officiating. Visitation will be at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. ************************************************* June Sparkman June Sparkman, 69, died Monday, October 17 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born in Viper, Ky., the daughter of the late Sanford Caudill and the late Nora Farler Caudill, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Sparkman; sisters Bertha, Joyce, Patsy and Jean; and brother Jerry Wayne. She was a life-long resident of Perry County and enjoyed bowling, and was the former manager of the Famous Recipe in Whitesburg for 23 years. She is survived by daughters Connie Trent and husband Eddie of Georgia and Mary Morris and husband Bobby of Viper; brothers David Caudill of Viper, Elmer Caudill of Carolina and John Caudill and wife Christine of Viper; sister Francis McCoy of Busy; four grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 21 at 11 a.m. at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home on East Main Street with Calvin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery located at Jeff. ************************************************** Curby Combs Curby Combs, 96, died Monday, October 17 in Frankfort, Kentucky. He was born in Happy, Ky., the son of the late Green Combs and the late Susan Combs, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Evalee Plowman Combs; son Ronald Lee Combs; and son-in-law Don Tincher. He is survived by his son, Doug Combs and wife Mary of Arcanum, Ohio; daughters Sue Carroll and husband Johnny of Arcanum, Ohio, Wanda Moore and husband Henry of Arcanum, Ohio, and Linda TIncher of Frankfort; special nieces Reva and Marlene; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were be conducted on Thursday, October 20 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Rodney Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Defiance Cemetery located at Happy. *************************************************** Ruth Ann Cody Ruth Ann Cody, 57, died on Sunday, October 16 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on May 9, 1954 in Washington atate to the late Roy Pittman and Beulah Jones, and is also preceded in death by her brother, James Pittman, and sister Mary Cody. She is survived by her husband, Charles Cody of Viper; sons James Roy Cody of Hazard, Carl David Cody of Owensville, Ohio, and Charles Thomas Cody of Viper; brothers John Pittman of Seattle, Washington and Paul Pittman of Phoenix, Arizona, along with six grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 19 at the Engle Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Virgil Hurt and Karl Baker officiating. Burial was at the Adams Lewis Cemetery at Viper. **************************************************** Linda Kay Pratt Linda Kay Pratt, 60, of Viper, died Wednesday, October 19 at the Hazard ARH medical center. She was a retired RN for Fresenius Medical Care, and the daughter of the late Stanley Waggoner and the late Helen Brewer Herald. She was also preceded in death by brothers Harold and Ray Gene Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, Quay Madison Pratt; son Anthony Pratt and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Tanner, Kaylee and Mason Pratt, along with a host of niece, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 22. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 23 with Rev. Michael Barnett officiating. He was the son of the late Russell Pennington and the late Laura Morris Pennington, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Adams Baker; sister Vivian Pennington and brother Russell Pennington. He is survived by sisters Sally Colwell, Ruby Stidham and Barbara Sumner; brothers Ronald Pennington and Eligie Pennington; special niece Laura Stidham along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. Visitation will be at the Krypton Pentecostal Church after 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 20.
