Found a very old obit for John E Combs in the Mountain Eagle in 1956. Anyone know which Jack and Nancy his parents were? Don't know if Nancy was a Williams or was married to a Williams before she married John. Carter John E. Combs of Millstone,Ky., passed from this life on Sunday, April 15, 1956, at the home of David Melton, his grandson, Millstone, Ky., following an illness of near two years. He was the son of the late Jack and Nancy Williams Combs and was born on Oct 19, 1874, being 81 years, 5 months and 26 days of age at his death. He was a former native of Perry County, Ky. He was married to Polly Sizemore, Grapevine, Ky., who survives him. The '.following children are : Buck Combs, Bluegrass, Ky.; Brack Combs, Leslie County; Alice Feltner,Millstone; Cas-tor- ia Ratliff, Hazard; Robert Combs, Ft. Benning, Ga.; Willie Combs, Grapevine; Richmond Combs, Perry County; Isabella Melton, Virginia; Melda Combs, Grapevine; one half-broth- er Elihu Allen, Perry County; one half-siste- r, Melda Williams, Perry County. Funeral services w'ere held at the residence of his daughter of Bluegrass. Perry County, on Thursday, April 19, at 2:00 p. m., C.S.T., with Elders Bob Sexton and Junior Young officiating. Burial took place at the Wells and Cole Cemetery, Bluegrass, Ky., Craft Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
