Carter Robert Samuel "Sheep" Combs, 51, 2020 Finey Grove Rd, died Thursday, Oct 19, 1989 at the U Of K Medical Center, Lexington, following a long illness. He was born in Hazard, Nov 16, 1937, the son of Mary Combs, Hazard and the late Herman Combs. He was an employee of the Hoosier Energy RECC, Bloomington, IN, a member of Moose Lodge, Osgood, IN, and a member of Piney Grove Church No 1. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Slavey Baker Combs, whom he married Dec 22, 1979 in LaFollette, TN; his mother; two sons, Robert Samuel Combs, Jr, Somerset and Charles Gregory Combs, Dallas TX; one daughter, Melissa Renee Whitaker, Chattanooga, TN; three step-sons, Sigmond Lee Baker, Jr, Mark Anthony and Stephen Bruce Baker of Somerset; one step-daughter, Melissa Baker Snell, Somerset; one sister, Anita Combs Barton, Corbin and seven grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 pm today at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev Edmond Van Hook officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery No 1.
