Mrs. Combs was born on April 5, 1924 in Perry County, Ky., a daughter to the late Monroe Coots and the late Mallie Wells Coots. She was a retired cook and had been a resident of Corbin for the last 14 years having moved from Cumberland, Ky. She believed in the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ernest Combs; two brothers, Lloyd and Elmer Coots; and three sisters, Janie Cody, Ollie Meeks and Lulu Caudill.Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Combs of Corbin and Mary Finns of Benham, Ky.; two brothers, Ernest Coots of Hiskory N.C. and Jim Coots of Chatsworth, Ga.; two sisters, Bertha Cody and Mary Stacy, both of Viper, Ky.; two grandchildren, Amy Owens and Jason Finns and also Bruce Warf whom was loved like a grandchild; four great-grandchildren, Savannah Owens, Destiny Owens, Nicholas Finns and Mary Kaylin Finns; and a host of other friends, family and loved ones.To the family, the staff of the Corbin Funeral Home would like to offer you our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Corbin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
