JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON HAZEL MCDOWELL FROM THE WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE (OH) RECORD-HERALD 2/8/08 Hazel Pratt McDowell, 91, of Lucasville, OH died February 5, 2008 at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth, OH. She was born January 4, 1917 in Hazard, KY, the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Dixon) Pratt. On April 11, 1932, she was united in marriage to James Paul McDowell who preceded her in death on July 11, 1994. Surviving are 5 sons: Bill McDowell and wife Dorothy Jean of Sabina, OH, John McDowell and wife Paulette, Rufus McDowell and wife Vicki, Larry McDowell and wife Linda and Randy McDowell and wife Susan, all of Lucasville, OH; 3 daughters: Bertha O'Brien and husband Raymond of Lucasville, Mary Reaver and husband Franklin Eugene of Enon, OH and Carol Snively and husband Martin of Piketon, OH; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; 1 brother: Howard Pratt of Fredericksburg, VA; a special friend, Barbara Summers of Jackson, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in ! death by 2 brothers: Rufus and Warren Pratt and 1 sister: Marzee Lusk. Hazel was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Christian Union. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. February 9, 2008 at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, OH with Rev. Delbert Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon, OH. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. February 8, 2008 and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on February 9, 2008.
