He was owner and operator of Brewer Trading Post and the son of the late Adam Brewer and the late Sarah Stacy Brewer. He was also preceded in death by sister Stella Brewer, Rhoda Hall, Sophia Barrett and Gladys Browning; and brothers Darwin Brewer and Glenn Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Brewer; daughters Teresa Miller and husband Jon and Shelia Campbell and husband Sherman Darriell; sons Clinton Brewer and wife Donna Kay, Tommy Brewer and wife Pam and Huwie West and wife Barb; sisters Ella Addock and Hazel Sumner; grandchildren Brandie Toler, Clinton Adam Brewer, Tanner Brown, Devin Campbell, Derek Brewer, Zack Miller, Sydney Miller, Balen Campbell and Dalton Toler; and great-grandchildren Chloe Toler and Brayden Toler. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 28. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29 with Densmore Goodson and Buddy Turner officiating. Interment will be at Bush Cemetery at Pigeon Roost. ******************************************* Tiney Lea Howard Tiney Lea Howard, 79, of Hazard, died Monday, July 25 at the hospice care center in Hazard She was the daughter of the late John Holland and the late Mattie Hunley Holland. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Howard; daughter Marcella Ann Moore and husband Dwayne; sons William Doyle Howard and wife Melinda and Ralph Howard, Jr. and wife Ruth Ann; grandchildren Doyle, Jr., Matthew, Landon, Brian and Molina; and great-grandchildren Mattie, Tucker, Kaden and Nicholas. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26. Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 with Clarence Howard and Charles Morris officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard. ******************************************** Charles Henry Rish Charles Henry Rish, 80, of Hazard, died Sunday, July 24 at the Paul E. Patton Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. He was a United States Air Force veteran, having retired as a flight line mechanic. He was the son of the late Charles C. Rish and the late Amy Hostetter Rish, and was also preceded in death by sisters Opal Dearth and Edna Bartlett. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rish; daughters Deborah Combs and husband James Robert, and Diana R. Roberts; son Charles Richard Rish; sister Betty Midkiff and husband Larry; brother Billie Rish along with grandchildren Nicole Rubino and husband Matt, Chad Rish and wife Staci, Stephanie Rish and Kristie Roberts, and great-grandchild Aidan. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 28 with Glenn Noe and Cecil Morgan officiating. Interment will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Ky. ********************************************** Ailene Fizer Ailene Cornett Fizer, 73, died Saturday, July 23 at the Hazard ARH medical center. She was born at Dwarf, the daughter of the late Austin Cornett and the late Maude Cornett, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Fizer; brothers James Forrest Cornett, Troy Austin Cornett and Willis Earl Cornett and sister Tisha Kathleen Shelton. She is survived by her brother, Roy Lee Cornett of Bellbrook, Ohio; sister Nannie Conley of Dwarf and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 25 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home at 7 p.m. with Kendall Combs officiating. The visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. The burial will follow at the Elk Hills Memorial Park in Big Chimney, West Virginia. *********************************************** Stella Young Services for Stella F. Young were held on Monday, July 25 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard. Born March 7, 1932 in Knott County, she was a longtime Perry County native and Member of the First Creek Baptist Church. She was retired from Pepsi and a loving mother and adoring granny. She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy, husband Monroe, and grandson Jamie Campbell. Survivors include children Carolyn Howard of Hazard, Patricia Colwell and husband Lem of London, Mona Combs and husband David of West Liberty, Jimmy Young and wife Margretta of Bonnyman, Michael Young of Corbin, Sara Miller and husband Delbert of Bulan, Jesse Young of Bulan and Melissa Young of Hazard. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of life worship service with Pastor Donald Tackett and Pastor A.D. "Pete" McGee officiating was held on Monday. The burial followed in the Colwell Cemetery at Yerkes. *********************************************** Sallie Holland Sallie Holland, 86, died Thursday, July 21 at the Hazard ARH medical center. The daughter of the late Jimmy and Winnie Colwell, she was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Chauncey Holland, and grandchild Jimmy Dean Flannery. She was a lifelong resident of Perry County and a loving mother and wife. She is survived by her daughter, Lorane Holland Campbell; sons Denus and Danny Holland; grandchildren Johnny Lynn Flannery, Timothy Wayne Holland, Courtney Hamm, and Danny Holland, Jr. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Engle Walker Funeral Home Chapel of Hazard on Sunday, July 24 with Clarence Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Colwell Family Cemetery at Busy. ************************************************ Geraldine Banks Geraldine Banks, 87, of Vicco, died Wednesday, July 20 at the Hazard ARH medical center. She was the daughter of the late Ed Combs and the late Nan Morgan Combs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Banks; daughters Lydia Faye and Draxie Elizabeth; six sisters, seven brothers and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her daughter, Gaye Nell Lewis; sons Coy David Banks and Hubert Ray Banks along with nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. Visitation will be at the Vicco Baptist Church where the family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Friday, July 22. Services will be at the church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23 with Ronald Davidson and James Daniels officiating. Interment will be at Ed Combs Cemetery in Acup. **************************************************
