I noticed that Elijah's last child was born in Floyd Co so I went here _RootsWeb Presents Kentucky Death Records 1911-2000_ (http://vitals.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ky/death/search.cgi) and looked at all the people that died in Floyd Co in 1930 and guess what??? I found a Elijah Cowles that dies on 17 Apr 1930. This HAS TO BE HIM!!! In a few days I'm going to the Ky Hist Soc and I'll get a copy of this and see if its really him. Keep your fingers crossed!! There is a mobile home and Floyd Watts old homeplace that you will see in picture. You use the driveway of the mobile home to get to the cemetery. This cemetery is across from where the old Garner Lumber Co was located before it burned. I am looking for: The Elijah Combs that Married Effie Watts Thacker, from oral history died around 1930 before His youngest daughter was born in 1930. This Elijah is the son of Fielden Combs and Sylvia Engle. On the Tombstone inscription note says he was KY PVT 26 INF 1 DIV. I was wondering if he died else where and came back to be buried. -----Original Message----- From: LyndaCGKyCol <_LyndaCGKyCol@aol.com_ (mailto:LyndaCGKyCol@aol.com) > To: cjenrn <_cjenrn@aol.com_ (mailto:cjenrn@aol.com) >; Jbfrancis6 <_Jbfrancis6@aol.com_ (mailto:Jbfrancis6@aol.com) > Sent: Fri, Mar 16, 2012 11:36 pm Subject: Re: Question Jenny I don't know which Elijah Combs you are referring to. I only have about 50 of them LOL I also looked on my website and I don't see a Pratt Cem that has him listed. Can you tell me more? Lynda In a message dated 3/16/2012 11:04:19 P.M. I was looking through some stuff I had and I found an Elijah Combs Died 4-17-1930 (KY PVT 26 INF 1 DIV) buried in PRATT Cemetery. Do either of you have any records on him. I have not been able to turn up anything. I have a feeling about this guy and I just need to find out if he is related to my group. Also, do you happen to know what newspapers were arounfd in 1930. ANy advice to where to go from here would be great. I see that Sylvia Thacker is buried there as well. Trying to make a connection. Jenny
