Dec. 17, 2011 Interment: Eversole Cemetery Age 72 Irvin Combs, age 72, of Combs, KY passed away on Dec. 15, 2011 at the Hazard Medical Center. Mr. Combs was a retired mechanic and a United States Army Veteran. He was the son of the late Jerry Combs and the late Mae Gambill Combs. He is also preceded in death by one sister: Pauline Combs Mulder and one half brother: Hershel Combs. He is survived by two sons: Robert Lee Combs & Irvin Earl Lee Combs; one daughter: Willa Mae Archer; four grandchildren: Delilah Southwood, Bobbie Joa Combs, Ronnie Lee Southwood & Wesley Litton Combs; one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends. Irvin Combs was married to Melda Combs, d/o John E Combs and Polly Sizemore. I am unable to determine which Jerry Combs is his father but in the Perry Co marriage index, Jerry and Mae Gambill married 1936. Below is the obit for Melda Combs. Carter Melda Combs, 67 of Combs, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at the Hazard Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late John & Polly Sizemore Combs. She is survived by her husband, Irvin Combs of Combs; 1 daughter Willa Combs Archer of Combs, 2 sons, Robert L. Combs of Combs, Irvin Earl Lee Combs of Boone ledge; 1 brother, Richard Combs of Hazard; 4 grandchildren, host of nieces & nephews and other relatives and friends survived. Funeral was conducted Saturday 9 2005 at Engle-Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Johnson officiating. Burial in the Eversole Cemetery in Lower Second creek.
