Mrs. Bennita Hensley Combs Officiating Ministers: Heath Sherman Mrs. Bennita Hensley Combs was born on April 1, 1936 in Combs, KY. and passed away on Saturday ~ December 24, 2011 at the Hazard Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. at the age of 75 years. She was the Daughter of the late Brack Hensley and the late Dema Hensley. By occupation Bennita was a homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Leslie County and was a member of the Wooton Presbyterian Church. Bennita enjoyed reading, cooking and most of all, being involved in the lives of her children & grandchildren. She was Preceded in Death by: Parents: Brack & Dema Hensley; Husband: Randy Combs; Son: Robert Wayne Maggard; Brothers: Billy Don and Tim Hensley; Sister: Lois Fugate. Mrs. Bennita Hensley Combs leaves the following relatives surviving: Sons: Jerry Don Combs of Hyden, KY. and Timothy Randall Combs of Wooton, KY.; Daughter: Sherry Sherman & Wendell of Wooton, KY.; Daughter-In-Law: Reitha Stidham Maggard; Brother: Jerry Hensley & Pamela of Hyden, KY.; Sister-In-Laws: Faye Hensley of London, KY. and Thelma Hensley of Wooton, KY.; Grandchildren: Shelley Watts, Ginger Williams, Travis Sherman, Eddie Sherman, Madisyn Combs, Robert Maggard, Brian Maggard and Christa Stidham; 11 Great Grandchildren; Special Caregiver: Melanie Fugate; A host of treasured nieces & nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Bennita Hensley Combs will be conducted on Wednesday ~ Dec. 28, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Heath Sherman officiating. He was born at Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Bailey Combs and the late Mary Ethel Cranon Combs. By occupation he was a retired coal miner having worked at Whitaker Coal Company. Randy had been a resident of Leslie County since 1963having moved here from Perry County. Some of his hobbies included: motorcycle riding and repair, C.B Radio Repair, running and walking and his very favorite past time, taking care of his grandkids. Randy was preceded in death by his parents: Bailey & Mary Ethel Combs; one son: Robert Maggard. He leaves surviving the following relatives, wife: Bennita Hensley Combs of Wooton, KY; two sons: Jerry Don Combs of Hyden, KY, Timothy Randall Combs of Wooton, KY, one daughter: Sherry Sherman & Wendell of Wooton, KY, two brothers: Donnie Combs & Faye of Cincinnati, OH, David Combs & Inga of Columbus, OH, one sister: Linda Plowman & Aaron of Hazard, KY, six grandchildren: Shelley Watts, Ginger Royster, Madisyn Combs, Robert Maggard, Brian Maggard , Krista Stidham, six great grandchildren: Victoria Watts, Cassidy Watts, Kaden Watts, Jayleigh Watts, Hailey Royster and Emmaleigh Collins. Randy is also survivied by a host of other relatives and friends.
