I knew and worked with Paul for years but ironically we never discussed genealogy. I retired in 2001 and started genealogy in 1999. Here is his obit. Frankfort – Paul N. Maggard, 69, husband to the love of his life, Sheila (Gayheart) Maggard, passed away on Tues., Apr. 19, 2011. He was born May 11, 1941 in Knott County, KY to the late William Arnold and Elaine Slone Maggard. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Capital Odd Fellows Lodge #6. He retired from the Dept. of Revenue and was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. Along with his wife Sheila, he is survived by two sons, Jeff (Emily) Maggard of Lawrenceburg and Chris Maggard of Frankfort; two brothers, Larry Maggard of Shelbyville and Richard Maggard of Minnesota; four sisters, Charlotte Carothers of Tennessee, Doris Stanley of Owensboro, Linda Delaney of Texas and Jennifer Stevens of Indiana; one grandson, William Nelson Maggard; and one special nephew, Ralph Gayheart. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Fri. Apr. 22, 2011 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. with Rev. Jack Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be William Maggard, Ralph Gayheart, Larry Maggard, Todd Maggard, Richard Maggard and John Hodges. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Capital Odd Fellows Lodge #6. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thurs. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
