He was the son of the late Woodrow Walker and Polly Raleigh Walker, and worked as a finisher for Brownies Dry Wall. He is survived by his wife, Marthajayne; sons Billy Jr. "Hodge," Woodrow, John, Greg, Rick, Charlie and Amos Walker; daughter Linda Parks; sisters Patsy Walker, Phyllis Ratliff, Gerry Phillips, Linda Moore and Brenda Toupin; brother James Walker, along with several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by brothers Buster, John and David Lee Walker, and grandson Connor "Bubby" Walker. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 22. ******************************************** Kenneth Trahan Kenneth Trahan, 91, departed this life on Tuesday, April 19 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Bjornlund Trahan and the late Freda Anderson Trahan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was affiliated with the County Line Community Church. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Trahan of Kyrpton; son Michael Bryan Trahan of Chandler, Arizona; daughter Lisa Gwinn Trahan of Birmingham, Al.; grandchildren Joseph, Krystal and Kandace; great-grandchildren Maelin, Claire and Alista, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard at noon with Rev. Teddy Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Jeff Fugate Cemetery at Trace Branch. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. ********************************************* Elijah E. L. Adams Elijah E.L. Adams, 83, of Hazard, died Sunday, April 17 at the Hazard ARH medical center. He was a retired manager from Pet Dairy, owned and operated Dixie Bell Dairy, was the owner of Mother Goose Market and part owner of Adams Buick-GMC in Richmond. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the son of the late Grover C. Adams and the late Pauline Speaks Adams, and was also preceded in death by brothers Roscoe Adams and Jack Adams, and sisters Lois Larkin, Irene King, Sally Queen and Betty Adams. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Adams; daughter Tudy Cody and husband Mike; son Sid Adams and wife Dina; grandchild Margaret Elizabeth Gates and husband Aaron, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 with Rick King officiating. Interment will be at Englewood Cemetery at Christopher. ********************************************* Irene Caudill Irene Caudill, 90, of Viper, died Friday, April 15. She was a retired cook for Perry County Schools and the daughter of the late Hannon Woods and the late Louise Woods. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilder Caudill, and sons Aaron Holmes, Lew Allen and James Corbett Caudill. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda J. Caudill; sons Charles L. Caudill and wife Sue, Hubert Caudill and wife Vena and William E. Caudill and wife Jan; daughter-in-law Sharon Caudill; sisters Alene Craft, Lelia Price, Beulah Gorbett, Justine Campbell and Willa Dean Mullins; brothers Eugene Woods and Lloyd Woods; along with eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family received friends on Sunday, April 17. Funeral services were held at the Middle Fork Church of Christ on Monday, April 18 with Junior Shell and Mike Hall officiating. Interment was at Ben Cornett Cemetery. ********************************************* Yvonne Vires Yvonne "Coopie" Carol Vires, 47, of Hazard, died Thursday, April 14 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Marcus Turner and the late Belva Turner, and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Vires; brothers Jimmy Turner and Elmer Turner and sisters Jean Brock and Earlene Molin. She is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Ritchie; son Dwight Vires; sisters Miniard Joyce (Paul Benton), Pauline Burke and husband Teddy, Glenda Hollins and husband Isaac and Terri Turner and husband Tom; brothers Ronnie Turner and wife Vanda, Donnie Turner and wife Jenie and Jimmy Miniard; one cousin who was like a sister: Lori Eversole; two nieces who were like daughters: Melinda "Pooh" Burke and Crystal Brightman; and nephew Jare Bear. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. Funeral services will held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17 with Tommy Lowe and Teddy Burke officiating. Interment will be at Beech Bottom Cemetery in Cutshin. ********************************************** Gilda Napier Gilda Napier, 56, of Hazard, died Thursday, April 14 at Hazard Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Bill Arnold and the late Zola Arnold. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Fletcher and husband Jerry; son Michael Napier and wife Mary; brothers Rick Arnold, Gary Arnold and Randy Arnold along with seven grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 4 p.m. at the Appal-Tech cafe with Joe Engle officiating. ********************************************** Stacy Baker Stacy M. Hurst Baker, 53, formerly of Perry County, died Tuesday, April 12 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Stacy is survived by one son, Lloyd Seldon, Jr. Baker and wife Margarette of Anco; daughters Tammy Williams and husband Johnny of Nicholasville, Tina Baker and husband James Hornbuckle of Zephyrhills, Fl. and Tina Quiles and husband June Bug of Hyden; along with five sisters, 13 grandchildren, three step grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard where the family will receive friends on Friday, April 15 beginning at 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Paul Couch officiating. *********************************************** Charles Edward Jent Jr. Charles Edward Jent, Jr., 36, died Wednesday, April 13 at his home in Krypton. He was born in Panama, the son of Charles Jent, Sr. and Nancy Vaughn Paul. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noah and Rellia Jent. He is survived by his parents; wife Sarah Jent; son Justin Jent; daughter Victoria Jent; stepdaughter Rebecca Paige and husband Matt Johnson; bothers Donald Jent, James Jent, Daniel Jent and Josh Jent; sister Melissa Jent; grandchildren Jayda and Taven Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 15 at the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel on Morton Blvd. The burial will follow in the family cemetery in Floyd County. ************************************************
