COMBS, John Fields, Jr., age 81 of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at The Hospice of Dayton. John was a Detective with the Dayton Police Department, where he retired after 28 years of dedicated service. He was a member of F.O.P 44 since 1955 and Eastmont United Methodist Church. John was a fun loving family man who never knew a stranger. Preceded in death by parents, John F. Combs, Sr. and Clara (nee' Noble) Combs. John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eloise (nee' Ewen) Combs; son, Mike Combs and his wife Karen; daughter, Teresa Combs and her partner Glenda Miles; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Henson, John (Leslie) Combs, and Avonelle Combs; and great-grandchildren, Etta, Ryan, Alex, Abby, Augie and Austin. Family will greet friends from 2:00-4:00PM on Sunday, March 6 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Memorial service will begin at 4:00PM with Rev. George Brewer officiating.
