    3. Stephen "Frog" M. Ackman, 53, of Independence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Covington. He was an inspector with Esco Corporation. Survivors include his wife, Irene Combs Ackman; a stepson, Tom Combs of Independence; stepdaughters, Kay Combs of Beattyville and Beverly Crabtree of Piner; his mother, Margie E. Ackman of Covington; a brother, Dick Ackman of Ludlow; sisters, Donna Slater of Erlanger and Debbie Sharp of Ohio; four step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth North Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014 Note: The Combs step-children are he same as listed in Charlie Combs obit. The KBI lists the mother as Irene Cross. The KDR has Charles Combs and Irene Cross divorcing, 26 Apr 1963 in Kenton Co. Charles Combs was the s/o Richard Combs and Emma Rice. Richard was the s/o Leander Combs and Matilda Herald. Leander was the s/o Richard Craig Combs and Orlena Deaton. Carter Charlie Combs , 71, of Morning View, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a machinist with American Standard, Louisville, a member of Demoss Masonic Lodge No. 220 and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Tom Combs of Independence; daughters, Beverly Crabtree and Kay Combs, both of Morning View; his mother, Emma Combs of Williamstown; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association, 11113 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
