He was a retired coal miner and was also self employed for many years. A member of the Vicco Church of God, he was the son of the late William V. Grace and the late Mary Wooten Grace, and was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Grace; daughters Rita Faye Couch and husband James, Pam Cornett and husband Todd, Teresa Brooks and husband Huey and Lisa Stidham and husband James; son Manuel Ray Grace, Jr. and wife Jaime; three sisters and six brothers; grandchildren Jamie Couch, Jason Couch and wife Donna, John Couch, Brittany Brooks, Candice Cornett and Michaela Faith Stidham; and great-grandchildren Shayanne Couch, Cadance Couch and Emma Lanham. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 1. Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 2 with Manuel Grace, Jr., Glenn Noe and Gayle Brown officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff. ****************************************** Edith Feltner Edith Feltner, 84, departed this life on Sunday, August 28 at the Hazard hospice care center being 84-years. She was born in Perry County, the daughter of the late Jess and Mary Jane Fields and the late Pokie Baker Fields. A lifelong resident of Perry County, she was a member of the Butterfly Church of the Living God and was also preceded in death by her husband, Mose "Spud" Feltner; son Danny Lee Feltner; granddaughter Kimberly Feltner Holbrook; great-grandson Matthew Davidson; sisters Glenna, Ruth and Paula Fields; brother Buddy Fields; son-in-law G.C. Baker and special friends Rose "Cracker" Eversole and Ed Kilburn. She is survived by daughters Maud Marie Baker of Busy, Glenna Jean Colwell and husband Lyndon of Busy and Kimberly Gail Feltner of Busy; son Kencil Feltner and wife Patricia of Busy; sisters Martha Greer and Thelma Fugate, both of Hazard; brothers Junior Couch of Ohio, Bert Couch of Jackson and Mitchell Couch of Ohio; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; special friends Billy Ray and Betty Eversole and Elaine Campbell, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 1 at noon at the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel on Morton Blvd. with Paul Couch, Clell Miller, Curt Eversole and Mike Eversole officiating. The burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery located on Couchtown Road at Busy. The visitation will be at the Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. ******************************************* Joyce Ann Halcomb Joyce Ann Halcomb, 65, of Cornettsville, died Monday, August 29 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Lee Ross and the late Bessie Shepherd Ross, and was also preceded in death by brothers Gene and Hobalee. She is survived by her husband, Steve Halcomb; sons Tommy Halcomb and wife Tammy, Tony Halcomb, Clifford Halcomb and wife Lisa and James Halcomb and wife Vanessa; sisters Martha Cress and Tammy Lindsey; grandchildren Johnny, Lakeisha, Tommy, Levi, Dakota, Alexis, Gunnar, Cheyanne and Rheagan; great-grandchildren Isaiah and Jaxon and a host of family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. The visitation will be at the Church of God of Prophecy of Little Leatherwood where the family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30. Services will begin at noon on Wednesday, August 31 with Mike Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Will Hall Cemetery at Little Leatherwood. ******************************************* Belle Cornett Belle Cornett, 71, of Hazard, passed away Saturday, August 27 at the hospice care center in Hazard. She was a member of Big Creek Pentecostal Church and the daughter of the late Dock Williams and the late Pearlie Williams. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Frank Williams. She is survived by her husband, Junior Cornett; daughters Judy Cornett and Pearlene Stidham; sons James Cornett and Willie E. Cornett; sisters Louise Hart and Shelby Jean Clark; brothers William A. Williams and Henry D. Williams, along with seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 29. Services will begin at noon on Tuesday, August 30 with Johnny Akers, Billy Ray Eversole and Rev. Pete Youmans officiating. Interment will be at Hamilton Family Cemetery at Big Creek. ******************************************** Donna S. Metcalf Donna S. Metcalf, 75, of Rochelle, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, August 21 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on Feb. 11, 1936 in Hazard, the daughter of Charles and Zola (Osborne) Campbell. On Sept. 15, 1965, Donna S. Campbell married her one true love, John Wesley Metcalf Jr. in Hazard, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2002. She was also preceded by sisters Jacqulene Boggs and Betty Crookshanks, both of Hazard. Survivors include two sons, Chris (Rachel) Metcalf of Davis Junction, Il. and Chuck (Lora) Metcalf of Rochelle, Il.; daughter Tammy McGuire of Hindman; grandchildren Destany R. Metcalf and Colin J. Metcalf; sisters Nora (Donald) Hughes of Hazard, Patricia (Roger) Cornett of Lexington, Ky., and Glenna (Lon) Hendrickson of Hazard; brothers Charles (Gail) Campbell, James M. (Wanda) Campbell and Gary (Nora Gail) Campbell, all of Hazard; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at the Church of Christ in Hillcrest, Il. on Friday, Aug. 26. Visitation was at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Thursday, Aug. 25. Burial was at Lawnridge Cemetery. A memorial has been established. ******************************************** Edna Cornett Edna Earl Frazier Cornett, 94, of Chicago, passed away on Wednesday, August 24. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth McIntyre of Chicago, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper. Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 29 with Bob Caudill officiating. Burial will take place at Felix Brashear Cemetery in Viper. ********************************************* Arvie Smith Arvie Ray Smith, 57, departed this life on Saturday, August 20 at his residence in Hazard. He was born on November 3, 1953 to Lois Smith and the late Carl Smith. He is survived by brothers Carlos Smith and wife Kathy of Wise, Virginia and George Smith and wife Susan of Bluefield, West Virginia; sister Phyllis Carter and husband Darell of Hazard; and his mother, Lois Smith of Hazard. The memorial service will be held at the Engle Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Hazard on Saturday, August 27 at 4 p.m. with Don Pinson and Ronald Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. prior to the service. ********************************************** Billy Ray Fugate Billy Ray Fugate, 27, of Lost Creek, passed away Wednesday, August 24. He is preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Ann Combs. He is survived by his mother, Janice Faye Neace; stepfather Roy Neace; girlfriend Rachel Shoupe; daughter Emily Sue Fugate; son Brian Wade Fugate and sister Della Ashley Hurt. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Friday, August 26 at Clear Fork Pentecostal Church. Services will begin at 11 am. on Saturday, August 27 with Juanita Combs officiating. Interment will be at Tenmile Family Cemetery at Tenmile. ***********************************************
