Gussie Louise Ayres Combs (1940 - 2011) Gussie Louise Ayres Combs, age 71, of Morning View, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. She was a former Housekeeping Manager for Why Motel and a member of Morning View United Methodist Church. Mrs. Combs loved crocheting, playing bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her parents, Cecil B. and Jessie Ayres Conway; twin infants, Darrell and Gerald Combs; brother, Ronald Ayres; and sister, Mary Gleason all preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Hensley Combs, Sr.; sons, Hensley Combs, Jr. of Kenton, Daniel (Rose) Lee Combs and James Arthur Combs, both of Morning View; brother, Jim Conway of Covington; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and beloved aunt, Mrs. Anna Wright. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs in Independence. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Wilmington Cemetery in Morning View.
