She is survived by her husband, Isaac Holland; daughter Mima Lynn Francis and Jewlia Holland; son Isaac Holland, Jr.; seven grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Edward Owens of Hazard, Billy Owens of Manassas, Va. and Freddy Wayne Owens of Combs; daughter Mary Ellen Neace of Gays Creek; sisters Norma Jean Stidham of Casey County, Lillian Eldridge and Helen Newton, both of Hamilton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and many friends, Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper with services following. Burial will be at Colwell Cemetery in Krypton. **************************************** Herman Allen Herman Allen, 91, departed this life on Monday, September 5 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard. He was born in Pigeon Roost, the son of the late Enoch Allen and the late Isabelle Brewer Allen. He was a lifelong resident of Perry County and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Herman was also preceded in death by brothers Hershell, Troy and Wilber Allen, and sisters Goldie Miller, Lorene Tidwell and Polly Cochran. He is survived by his son, Melvin Troy Allen of Indiana; brother Omer Allen of Pigeon Roost; sisters Emma Frazier and Maxine Lester, both of Florida, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 8 at 1 p.m. at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Rev. Johnie Akers officiating. The burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery located at Pigeon Roost. Visitation will be at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Military rites will be performed by the Perry County D.A.V. chapter No. 64. ***************************************** Herman Napier Herman Napier, 66, of Hazard, died Friday, September 2 at the Hazard ARH medical center. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his father, Barter Napier. He is survived by his wife, Tabitha Napier; mother Bertha napier; daughters Tabitha Marie Napier and Tammy Smith; son Herman Napier, Jr.; sisters Wavelene Brock and Janice Stacy; brothers Rommel Napier and Ray Napier; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was a retired clerk for Community Ministries and the daughter of the late Luther Eversole and the late Edith L. Causey Eversole. She is survived by her son, Bernard Michael Malinak and wife Deborah; one daughter; sister Betty Fugate of Florence; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was a retired Sergeant in the United States Army and the son of Carlos Combs and Denise Robinson Combs. She was a retired police officer for the City of Hazard, a member of the Airport Gardens Baptist Church and the oldest living member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW. She was the daughter of the late Frank Napier and the late Coursey Harvey Napier, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Strunk; daughter Judy Little; brother Harold Napier; sister Jo Warren and grandchild Denny Hassakis. She is survived by daughters Jean Walker and Janet Hassakis; son Bruce Strunk; grandchildren Hallie Hassakis and Laura Vance and a host of family and friends. Interment will be at Combs Cemetery in Combs, Ky. ************************************************ Joseph Abner Joseph Casey "JC" Abner, 49, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, August 30, at his residence. Born in Oneida, Ky. on September 12, 1961, he was the son of Ruby Daniel Abner of Booneville and the late Dan Abner. He had worked in construction and in the roofing business for many years and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, collecting antiques and spending time outdoors with his grandchildren and family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Amanda Casey Abner Hall of Trenton, Ohio, Lasey Jo Abner and her fiancé Glen Coulson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Bobby Sue Abner of Trenton, Ohio; sisters Wanda Maupin and husband Michael of Connersville, In., Darlene Stamper of Canoe, Ky., Regina Light and husband Bob of Connersville and Nadina Abner Ott of Connersville; grandchildren Kaylyn Hall, Kira Napier, Adaisia Coulson, Glen B. Coulson, Aliyah Coulson, Tatum Joseph Coulson, and Kayla Burns; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Washington Edward Abner, and a grandson, Seth Allen Coulson. Funeral services will be conducted at the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church in Buckhorn on Saturday, September 3 at 3 p.m. with friends and family gathering from noon until the time of the service. Urban Winkler Funeral Home in Connersville, In. is assisting with the arrangements. ************************************************** Wilmer White Wilmer Ray "Willie" White, 81, of Callaway, passed away Friday, August 26 at a local hospital in Florida. He was born in Canyon Falls, Ky. and was raised in Blue Diamond and Hazard. He joined the U.S. Air Force and traveled extensively throughout the Far East and the United States, retiring as a MSGT after 20 years as an air traffic controller. After his military career, he worked as a window clerk and trainer for the U.S. Post Office at the downtown Panama City branch, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a longtime resident of Bay County and devoted member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church of Parker. In his early years, Wilmer enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudoku and his ministry work at his church. He enjoyed helping others and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Tera White of Callaway, his children, Diana Walker of Panama City, Fl. and Beckie Wilson and husband Lee of Dallas, Texas; brother James K. White and wife Helen of Hazard; sisters Faye Anderson and husband George and Gayle Muncy and husband Robert, all of Hazard; his cherished granddaughter, Miriah White, and a great-grandson, Yoshi Stewart, both of Panama City; special brother-in-law and coffee buddy, Gene Boles of Southport; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Monday, August 29 at the First Baptist Church of Parker with Rev. Craig Walker officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery. She was a lifelong resident of Perry County and preceded in death by her husband, French Stacy, and brothers Benjamin, Charles and Willie Begley. She is survived by her son, Russell Stacy and wife Renee of Leslie County; daughter Sharon Stacy Combs and companion Patricia Ann Cobb of Avawam; brothers Edward Begley of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Eugene Begley of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ray Begley of Austin, Indiana; grandchildren Rodney Scott Johnson, Joshua Ryan Combs, Kara Amber Sowards, Kelsey Arden Stacy and Tristan Jacob Stacy; step grandchild Kelli Nicole Ayers; great-grandchildren Ashley Johnson and Nicholas Johnson.
