A mulatto girl around 14, perhaps named Janey Young, shot a man from a rather prominent family (unknown). She claimed accident but was convicted. That's all the details I have. My mother (an Adams from Hazard) went to some of the trial and has been haunted about the event since she was a girl. Any info greatly appreciated!
