And in the County Court house, Perry county clerks office files. Perry Co. Ky. Deed Book 44 Pages 546 and 547 Has: "Finly Sira Combs (with x his mark) (Although so far this is the only time he ever used the name). I found another deed book 56 page 422. Riley Combs and wife. (Amy Wells Combs). Deeding to Buddy Combs (Rileys brother). In this deed it quotes Riley Combs (heir of Massingle Combs). How could Riley be heir to Massingle Combs?. This was throwing a wrench in the works until we figured it out. Riley was the son of Polly Combs d/o Massingill Combs. Thats how he gets to be the heir. 1898 Perry Co. Ky school census dist #22 Mouth of the Carr I found a transcription by Hayes that had Parent /Guardian as Louisa Combs. This drove us all nuts trying to figure out who in the world Louisa was. We went to the Perry Co. Ky. school board and got a copy of the census. It has. Parent/Guardian as Saissa (sic) we now believe this is supposed to be Sorry Combs. also listed in Hayes was children. Riley Combs 19 m 23 Dec 1878, Buddy Combs 16 m 20 July 1882 and Bitha 13 f 10 apr 1885. School board copy the same except, Bitha should be Betty. Sira's father is Alexander S. Combs b. abt 1825. Evidentally we have two Alexanders born within 10 years of each other and married Brashears. These two Brashears have been confused with each other and even put together as the same person. Therefore the marriage dates have been scrambled. The marriage dates listed below are the correct ones. I still need parents for Aexander S. Combs and Polly Brashear. Anyone have any ideas?.
