Obituaries: Week of January 9, 2008 Everett LeRoy Keefer Everett LeRoy Keefer, the husband of Nell Keefer, passed away at his home in Slemp on Thursday, January 3. Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Phyllis Ann Caudill of Hazard, Brenda Skipper of London, Diane Hall of Florida, Gayle Bingham of Oregon and Tim and Jeff Grimm, both of Slemp. She is also survived by his sister, Helen Keefer of Oregon and his two brothers, Earl and Ray Keefer, both of California. He was the grandfather of eight and the great-grandfather to a host of great-grandchildren. The family received friends on Friday evening, January 4 at the Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home in Viper where the funeral service was conducted on Saturday afternoon with Eddie Williams, Charles Bush and Joseph Grimm officiating. The burial was at the John M. Cornett Cemetery at Slemp. Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper was in charge of all arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jerry Kyle Morgan Jerry Kyle “Flintstone” Morgan, who was born on December 17, 1945, at Coon Creek in Leslie County, departed this life on Wednesday, January 2, at his home in Hazard. At the time of his death, he was 62 years of age. He was the owner and operator of M&M Trucking in Hazard. Along with enjoying mechanic work, he spent his spare time gardening and car racing. The son of the late Jerry Morgan and Ethel Bledsoe, she was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Gross, his uncle, Pearl Bledsoe and his aunt, Alice Hazelwood. He is survived by his special companion, Carolyn Miller, his son, Philip Kyle Morgan and his daughter, Susann Stacy, all of Hazard, he step-brother, Clayton Morgan of Hyden and his sister, Helen Chaney of Ary. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation was conducted on Friday evening at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted on Saturday afternoon, January 5, at Solid Rock Bible Church at Cinda with Derrick Combs and Larry Callahan officiating. The burial was at the Bledsoe Family Cemetery at Cinda. Engle-Walker Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ricky Johnson Ricky Johnson of Cornettsville passed away on Saturday, January 5, at the Hazard A.R.H. Medical Center. At the time of his death, he was 47 years of age. He is survived by his parents, Oakley and Juanita Johnson of Cornettsville, his sisters, Patricia Pratt of Tennessee and Pamela Campbell of Cornettsville, his brothers, Jerry Johnson of Cornettsville and Gary Johnson of Beehive. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, he is also survived by a special friend, Bobbi Lynn Breeding. The family received friends on Monday evening at the Church of God of Prophecy in Little Leatherwood, which is where the funeral service was conducted at noon on Tuesday, January 8, with Robbie Delph officiating. Kloth, Ph.D., the wife of Randy Kloth, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, at the Hazard A.R.H. Hospital. At the time of her death, she was 50 years of age. She was the daughter of Joan Wrzesinski of Hazard and the late Simon Wrzesinski. Dr. Kloth, who received her Ph.D. from Our Lady Of The Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, was an Assistant Professor of Counseling and Human Development at Lindsey-Wilson College, teaching at various campus throughout Eastern Kentucky for the Columbia, Kentucky, based college. Along with her mother and her husband, she is also survived by her step-daughter, Kerra Kloth of Lynchburg, Virginia; two brothers, Simon Wrzesinski of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Jobe Wrzesinski and wife Betty of San Antonio, Texas; her sister, Ruth Hensley of Ft. Worth, Texas; her mother-in-law, Rebecca Kloth of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; her sisters-in-law, Joy and Angie Kloth, both of Milwaukee, and her brothers-in-law, Russell Kloth and Rick and wife Dawn Kloth, all of Milwaukee, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family received friends from noon and until 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 5, at the Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church where a Memorial Service was conducted with Father Michael Chowning officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church of Hazard or Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. All arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Robert Clifford “Mouse” Bolling Robert Clifford “Mouse” Bolling died on Monday, December 31, at his home in Hazard. At the time of passing, he was seventy-six years of age. A member of The Living Water Full Gospel Church, Mr. Bolling was retired from the Falcon Coal Co. The son of the late Walter and Frances O’Dell Bolling, he was also preceded in death by one grandson, McCullough Bolling, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Anna Jo Bolling, his daughter, Billie Jean Bolling and two sons, Robert K. and wife Donna Bolling and Mark and wife Kim Bolling. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his special adopted family, James, Denise and Whitney as well as one niece, three nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. The family received friends on Tuesday evening, January 1, at The Living Water Full Gospel Church where the funeral service was held on Wednesday morning, January 2, at 11:00 AM with Weston Pratt and Fred S. Ballard officiating. Interment was at the Sally Stephens Cemetery in Prestonsburg. Stamper of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 7, at the Hazard A.R.H. Hospital. At the time his death, he was eighty-one years of age. The son of the late Monroe Stamper and Emma Combs, he is survived by his wife, Nellie Mae Stamper, his two daughters, Barbara Sanford and Shirley Reiter, his son, Jimmy Lee Bach and his sister, Seba Raleigh. Along with a host of other relatives and friends, Mr. Stamper is also survived by his three grandchildren, Jimmy and Ryan Bach and Kimberly Reiter. The family will receive friends this evening, Wednesday, January 9, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel which is where the funeral service will be conducted at the end of the visitation period with Densmore Goodson officiating.
