We have recently discovered that one of our uncles had a child out of wedlock. Here is the story we were told: Our oldest uncle, Fult(on) Pratt, who was the son of Hiram Gilbert and Mary Liz Pigman Pratt had a son out of wedlock. That son joined the army during WWII and was stationed in or near Alaska. While in Alaska, he drowned. We know that the mother was probably from Perry or Knott County, but that is all. Some of the older cousins vaguely remember a young boy living for a short time with our grandparents. Does this story sound familiar to anyone?
