Smith Mrs. Vesta A. Smith, 74, of Camden, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born on June 6, 1930, in Buckhorn, [Perry County], Ky., the daughter of the late William and Anna (Gross) Turner. On Aug. 23, 1946, she married Hubert Smith in Whitesburg, Ky. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of the Camden Presbyterian Church. She is survived by four children, Kathleen (George) Rader of Camden, Charlene (William) Bake of College Corner, Ohio, Marvin Smith of Camden, and Jani (Roger) McIlvaine of Oxford, Ohio; a brother, Fred (Ruth) Gross of Eaton; two sisters-in-law, Ollie D. Turner of Buckhorn, Ky., and Shirley Smith of Ladoga, Ind.; five grandchildren, Angela D. (Johnny) Hitchcock, Heather Jo Smith, Caleb Levi Harter “Smith,” William A. “Tony” Bake, and Leah K. Bake; and a special friend, Calvin Philpot. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Mertz Turner; three sisters, Jean Bergen, Geneva Grace and Janette Smith; and a grandson, Donald Anthony Rader. ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Nein-Thompson Funeral Home, 249 N. Main St., in Camden. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at the funeral home, with John Hitchcock officiating. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden.
