He was born May 16, 1929, in Perry County, Ky., to Jim and Tishie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Zereda (Herman “Pete”) Napier; two grandchildren, Craig and Tara; a great-grandchild, Molly; three brothers, Kelsey, Arnold and Grandville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Belvia, Margie, and Lori; and four brothers, Arthur, Beacher, Henry, and Nathan. He was a 14-year Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 218, and a past member of the Honor Guard. Mr. Jones was retired from the Laborer’s Local Union No. 1410. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 501. ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in Middletown, with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Chaplain Hobart White will officiate. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Baker-Stevens Funeral Home.
