    3. Robert O'Rear vs. Jeremiah combs F. 24 May 1837, a runaway slave, was captured in Perry Co., Ky. by deputy sheriff, Henry Duff (Henry now lives in Johnson Co. State of Missouri.) on 13 June 1829. Henry Duff gave the following description of Henry the slave: age; 35-40; 5ft. 10 in.; 145-160 lbs.; Light black; walked with a stoop and grayed haired. They kept Henry in jail for some time. Later sold to Jeremiah Combs. Trial was changed from Perry to Morgan then to Estill Co., Ky. Elijah Combs. J.P. and William Stamper sheriff in Perry Co. Wit: Estill Co.; Samuel Hurst and Andrew Wilson, Sr.: Fayette Co., : Sydney Berkley: Perry Co.; Daniel Duff, Jacob?, Joel ?, Elijah Combs, Jepe Combs, William Begley, D. James, Jacob Faulkner, James Hampton, John Haddix: Montgomery Co., William Trinkle, Joseph Arvine, Daniel Brown, John W. O'Rear, Cotton O'Rear, George O'Rear, Richard Apperson, William Smith, George Adams, Abraham Wilkinson, John Smith and Walter Chiles: Rockcastle Co.: Larkin Adkin, and Clay Co.: Felix Gilbert. This was put on the Owsley County list and though you Combs Perry Countians might be interested in this, the submitter was Bertha Warner.
