He was a machinist with American Standard, Louisville, a member of Demoss Masonic Lodge No. 220 and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Tom Combs of Independence; daughters, Beverly Crabtree and Kay Combs, both of Morning View; his mother, Emma Combs of Williamstown; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
