    2. Obituaries: Week of November 21, 2007 Benny Scott Roll Benny Scott Roll of Bonnyman passed away at his home on Monday, November 12. He was 38 years of age at the time of his death. The son of Irene Roll and the late Benny B. Roll was an employee of CSX Railroad. Along with his mother, he is also survived by his wife, Rachelle Roll, his sister, Louella Roll Farler and his two brothers, Sam and Dan Roll all of Hazard. Along with a host of other relatives and friends, he is survived by a special family member, Lizzie Lou. The family received friends on Thursday, November 15, until the funeral hour of 1:00 PM which was held at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel with Robert Burnett officiating. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Hazard. The staff of Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel was entrusted with all arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Geraldine Noble Miller Geraldine Noble Miller died on Tuesday, November 13 at her home in Vancleve. At the time of her passing, she was 67 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Emery and Elizabeth Stacy Noble. Mrs. Miller is survived by her children, Helene Graham, Vonda Miller, Marita Miller, Rhonda Napier, Hamon Johnny Miller and Doyle Gene Miller. The grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of six is also survived by her sister, Lula Fugate, her brothers, Willard and Emery Noble, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends The family received friends on Friday morning, November 16 until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM, held at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home with William Graham officiating. Interment was at the Noble Cemetery at Rowdy. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Geraldine Miller Funeral Fund at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home, which was in charge of all arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Joshua Allen Farler Joshua Allen Farler, who was born on October 8, 1985 in Hyden, passed away on Tuesday, November 13. He was 22 years of age at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Linvel Hill, one aunt, Joni Hill Spencer and by one uncle, Joseph Farler. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Carol Hill Farler of Viper, his grandmother, Georgia Hill of Hazard and his paternal grandparents, Joyce Farler of Viper and Albert Farler of Lexington. Along with a host of special aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends, he is also survived by his brother Joseph Bryan Farler of Viper. Joshua, who was baptized at Calvin Williams’ Pentecostal Church of God, was employed by Hazard Petroleum as a welder. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, ATVs, basketball, fishing, hunting, music, guitars with his most enjoyable time being the time he spent with family and friends. The family received friends on Friday evening, November 16 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home where the funeral service was conducted on Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Steve Haddix and Rev. Calvin Williams officiating. The burial took place at the Caudill Cemetery at Viper. All arrangements were entrusted to the staff at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thelma Stollings Mrs. Thelma Stollings passed away on Tuesday, November 13. At the time of her death, she was 75 years of age. Born in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Isabell Gibson Bowling. Mrs. Stollings, a lifelong resident of Perry County, owned Stollings Grocery and Texaco Gas Station at Busy, and she was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Stollings, her brothers, Virgil, Azel, Kenneth, Don and Earl and her two sisters, Lola and Dellie. Surviving Mrs. Stollings are her sons, Rufus “Buddy” and wife Patricia Stollings and Earl Wayne and wife Joann Stollings, all of Busy, her daughters, Carolyn and husband Vernon Campbell of Lancaster, Patty and husband Lacy Neal of Lexington, Lisa and husband Noah Patrick of Salyersville, Tammy and husband Issac Hall of Yerkes and Vanessa and husband Michael Campbell of Hazard. Her surviving siblings are Lonzo Bowling of Columbus, Indiana, and Yvonne Campbell of Dayton, Ohio. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren as well as a host of friends and other relatives. The visitation was held on Wednesday evening, November 14 at the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel where the funeral service was conducted on Thursday afternoon with Rev. Teddy Bailey and Rev. Larry Gross officiating. The burial was at the Gibson Cemetery at Busy. The staff at the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel was in charge of all arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Juanita Baker Juanita Baker, who was born on April 2, 1928, passed away on Tuesday, November 13. She was 79 years of age at the time of her death. She was born at Cutshin to Amon and Eliza Jane Williams Smith. The lifelong resident of Perry County was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, yard work and especially trimming trees. She was a member of the United Christian Fellowship Church at Busy. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Baker, three daughters, Rosie Mae, Evie Gevon and Brenda Carol, her granddaughter, Nicole Ensook Spencer as well as four brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Connie and husband Paul Spencer and Emma Lue and husband Donald Ray Dunn, all of Kodak, her brother, Ardell Smith of Vicco and her sister, Patsy Wilson. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Larry Dunn and wife Nancy, Angela Hall and husband Nathan, Donald Gene Dunn and B.J. and Nicholas Wayne Spencer. Her surviving great-grandchildren are Brian Dale and Whitney, Jade Dunn, Shawn Tyler, Ashton Cole Hall and Hannah Elizabeth Dunn. She is also survived by a host of friends and other relatives. The family received friends on Wednesday evening, November 14 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home where the funeral service was conducted on Thursday morning with Timothy Morris and Jerry Lewis officiating. The burial was at the Baker Family Cemetery at Kodak.
