Seeking Information on James Baker who was the son of Wilson Baker. James lived to be 106 years old and I believe was a brother to Isaac who also lived to an old age. Thanks. Hi Sherry, I saved your e-mail information about James Baker and am just now having time to write to you about him. I would like to know more about him. Do you know who his children were and who his wife or wives were? I have been doing research on my families since the 1970's and have never been able to get through the brick wall surrounding my GGG Grandmother's family. I guess it would be better to start with my GG Grandmother who was born Elizabeth Nickell in Dec. of 1841 in Morgan Co. Kentucky. On June 13, 1861, she married her husband, Greenville T. Little in Morgan Co., Ky. and together they had 7 children. After all of their children were born, they decided to move to north Texas to Dallas County. They eventually wound up in a town named Wilmer, Texas and finished raising their children there and lived there for the rest of their lives. They are buried in Lancaster, Texas which is also in Dallas county and not too far from Wilmer. Two of their oldest children, Charles Little and Charlotte Little Tindell are buried there beside them and preceded their mother at least in death. Greenville T. Little died in 1902 in Wilmer in a buggy accident and Elizabeth died in Dallas at the home of her daughter, Mattie in 1929. In doing research, I found my Elizabeth who was sometimes called Lizzie living with her parents in the 1860 census in Morgan Co. Ky. It showed her parents to be a John B. Nickell and her mother's name was also Elizabeth. There are others in our family who believe that this Elizabeth sometimes referred to as Betsy and otherwise known as Bettie Nickell, was a Baker by birth name. Some have thought that her parents were a John Jackson Baker and Mary Campbell who lived in Perry Co., Ky. and those people did have a daughter by that name but I don't think she is the same one as my GGG Grandmother because Betsy Baker is listed in Perry Co. Ky. and married to a John Shepherd and then to a Jim Hendix. At that same time, my Elizabeth Bettie Nickell is living in Morgan Co.,Ky. with her husband, John B. Nickell and her children. We also have pictures of the gravestones of John B.Nickell and Bettie in Washington Co., Arkansas where it is said that they moved in their last years. However, someone else has told me that they think that my GGG Grandmother was named Elizabeth Baker before she married John B. Nickell and that her father may have been a James Baker. That is why I would be interested in knowing more about this James Baker that you have mentioned and where he lived and who he was married to and who his children were if you have that information. Hope to hear from you. My e-mail address is janemce@sbcglobal.net .
