JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON MART HICKS FROM XENIA(OH) DAILY GAZETTE. Mart Hicks, 53, of New Carlisle (OH), passed away Monday July 26, 2004, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born January 20, 1951 in Hazard KY, the son of Sam and Luverne (Jones) Hicks. He was a retired construction worker. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judy Hicks; three daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda and Darrell Sparks of New Carlisle, Rebecca and Freddie Birt of Fairborn OH, and Elizabeth Ann and Aaron Asher of Fairborn; a son and daughter-in-law, Mart Jr. and Michelle of Huber Heights OH; grandchildren Christopher and Jacob Sparks, Danielle Sargent, Jessica and Freddie Birt Jr., Kyle Hicks, Kayla Asher, and Dakota Hicks; three brothers, Arnold Hicks and Darrell Hicks both of Fairborn and Osie Hicks of Enon OH; two sisters, Audrey Gibson of Dayton OH and Ruby Elwicks of TN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Leander Holt and Alice Walters. Friends may call 6-8pm July 28, 2004 at the Bur! cham Funeral Home in Fairborn, where services will be held July 29, 2004 at 11am with the Rev. Lanny Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery in Greene County OH.
