The 'Farmer' shown here is not my father, but a distant cousin. My dad, born in 1888, went by the name 'Willie'. His middle name was 'Farmer', so we always wondered where this name came from, since we didn't know of any 'Farmers' in our lineage. I have since talked to a relative from Jackson County, KY, who had some Shepherd relatives with the last name 'Farmer'. I think this is where my Dad's middle name came from.
