Carter Lessa Marie Combs, age 45, of Ottenheim Road in Waynesburg, died Sunday December 2, 2007 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Sunday October 28, 1962, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Mary Ann Napier Combs. Lessa was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 345 and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 364. She was a homemaker and avid frog collector. Survivors include her companion Forrest Banks; one daughter, Trista (Daniel) Elkins of Waynesburg; two sons, Josh Combs of Stanford and Zac Banks of Waynesburg; five brothers, Ray Combs of Waynesburg, Gene (Linda) Combs of Lexington, Dean (Johnnie) Combs of Versailles, Gary (Vickie) Combs of Harrodsburg, and Doug (Jean) Combs of Waynesburg; seven sisters, Francis (M.T.) Smith of Lexington, Faye (John) McConnell of Delaware, Ohio, Linda (Donald) McKinney of Danville, Freida (Walter) Trent of Lancaster, Audrey Combs of Stanford, Sharon (Pet) Singleton of Stanford, and Carolyn (Jerry ) Petrey of Crab Orchard; three grandchildren, Bryce Elkins, Tucker Elkins and Braylee Maddox. Funeral service will be at 1 pm Wednesday December 5, 2007 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-9pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Goode, Rodney Goode, Donnie McKinney, Lynn Petrey, Chris Petrey, Eugene Smith, Dustin Sowder and Buddy Bond.
