JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON JAMES JONES FROM THE HAMILTON (OH) JOURNAL-NEWS 12/8/07 James Franklin Jones, age 79, of Hamilton, OH died December 6, 2007 at Vitas Hospice of Hamilton after a long illness. He was born in Cornettsville, KY on December 6, 1928, the son of Frank and Minerva (Harris) Jones. The fifth of 12 children and the first of four sons. Educated in the Fairfield Schools he entered the US Army in 1949 and served proudly in the Korean War with post war service in Washington D.C. as a member of the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery before being Honorably Discharged. His Service and Campaign awards include the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Medal, National Defense Service, Korean Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Korea War Service Medal, and Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Upon his discharge from the Army He returned to Hamilton where he was employed by General Motors Fisher Body for almost 40 years. Jim married Helen Louise Doole! y in 1954. They had one son. In 1975 Jim married Geneva Ann Kilgore in Nashville, TN. They had one daughter. Jim is survived by his wife Geneva Ann Jones; his son Mose Glendon (Glen) Jones and wife Terri of Oxford, OH; his daughter, Jennifer Ann Jones of Hamilton, OH; four grandchildren, Lotus Rice (Steve), Lavern Elgie (Justin), Bill Jones, and Melody Jones; four step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rebecca Barrett and husband Jesse of Moores Hill, IN, Eva Redd, of Connersville, IN, Edith Settle, of Hamilton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen; brothers, William, Ernest and Edward Jones; sisters, Helen Spurlock, Charlotte Mercer, and May Whitte. He was a member of the McGonigle Millville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be December 10, 2007 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM with funeral services immediately following at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. with Reverend Grant Montgomery and Rev! erend Edwin Beck officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Ceme! tery.
