Thanks Lynda, I really do appreciate it. I have been desperately trying to find out some information about my GG Grandmother's mother and her family. My GG Grandmother was Elizabeth Nickell Little. She was born in Dec. of 1841 to John B. Nickell and Elizabeth called Bettie. I think her maiden name was Baker. I just got information that this Bettie Nickell's father may have been a James Baker and her mother was named Elizabeth [maybe Patrick was her maiden name]. She was said to be married to this James Baker or at least a Baker and lived in Perry Co, Ky. at that time. It is also said that she was born about 1792 in Virgina. She first married this Baker [maybe James] and then after he died or they divorced, she married a Thomas Nickell, Sr. in 1835 in Morgan Co. Ky. After he died she married a James Davis in 1853. Then it is also said that she died in 1866 or 1868 in Morgan Co. Ky. Some have said that there seems to be a connection with the Andrew Wilson, Sr. family. Now, it is said that she was the mother of a Martha Baker. Elizabeth married Thomas Nickell on Nov. 22, 1835. He was born in 1765 and died in 1852. Elizabeth [Kate] then married James Davis,Sr. in 1853. Elizabeth and Thomas Nickell had at least one child, a George K.or W. Nickell. Elizabeth had other children. There was a male born 1820, Eliza born Sept. 16, 1818 and died July 1889. She married William Childers in 1859 in Morgan Co. Ky. Elizabeth was the next child born in 1823 and married John B. Nickell. [This would be my GGG Grandparents]. Nancy Baker was listed as an idiot child and was born about 1822-25. It seems that she had a child out of wedlock named Cynthia. The next child was Martha Francis Baker who was born in May 1827 in Perry Co., Ky. She died April 20, 1924 in Morgan Co.,Ky. She first married Henry Oditt. He drown in a river and she married Uriah Cottle. Nancy Baker married March 9, 1848 in Morgan Co.,Ky to Timothy Terrill. Mahala may have also been a child of Elizabeth and Thomas Nickell. There seems to be some confusion as to who her father was. I need to find out who Elizabeth's first husband was for sure and who her parents were. I wish I could find a marriage record of this Elizabeth's marriage to her first husband, perhaps a James Baker or some Baker. I'd like to know what county she was from in Virginia but don't know how I am going to find that out. Elizabeth Baker Nickell Davis was listed in 1830 in Perry Co. Ky. census as head of household. Don't know if she was a widow or divorced. James David and Elizabeth Nickell were said to be married on May 5, 1853 in Morgan Co.,Ky. I wish I could see a record of that. Any help with any of this would be much appreciated.
