Hazard Herald, Jan 2 1940 Yerkes Man Loses Life Body Found By Railroad Track Thought To Be Hit By Train Crit CAMPBELL's young son, Crit Jr. was a long time without a doctor Monday night, for his daddy hurrying after a physician was killed supposedly by an upbound freight train in the Yerkes yards. Young Crit, who is only a year old is suffering from pneumonia and is in critical condition. It became apparent late Monday night that the presence of a physician was an immediete necessity and Daddy Crit, bundled up well, hurried from his Napfor home after a doctor. It is supposed that he did not hear the approach of the train. His body was found beside the track. Claim agent L. E. HOLLINGSWORTH of Hazard was busy trying to discover if Crit had actually been hit by the train. None of the train crew saw any accident or were able to make any report of it when questioned by Hollingsworth today. Mr CAMPBELL is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillie Campbell and by four other children in addition to Crit Jr. Six sisters also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the home with Rev. Garrett Colwell in charge. Burial will be in the Napfor cemetery. Lynda's note: Young Crit Jr. must have lived for I can't find him in the Ky Death Index for 1940.
