    3. Hey JimBob, Great photo of the old L & N bridge at Hazard. As I recall, this bridge was located at the north end of Hazard just as you entered the Hazard business section (in the 1940's) and was for use of the L & N employees to get to the L & N train yards. The train depot was at the other end of town (south end) and you could drive to that. It's been a long time, but think this is correct or at least as I remember it. My maternal Grandfather, Ova L. Sullivan, was an engineer on the L & N for over 30 years. He worked out of Hazard yards when I was born, but moved to Revenna, Estill Co. about the mid 1940's and worked out of there the rest of his career. He made runs from Revenna to Hazard to pick up coal loads regularly and would blow his whistle when he used the siding across the river going to the mines at Allais to pick up a load. Us kids would wave to "Pa" as he went by. Just a memory that seeing the bridge photo brought back. Freddie
