Hazard Herald, Jan 2, 1940 Railroad Man is Heart Victim As He Goes Hunting Funeral plans are being planned for Wednesday afternoon for Jesse ADAMS, 49 year old Louisville and Nashville railroad conductor and brakeman who dropped dead while hunting near Booneville in Owsley County Monday morning. Mr. ADAMS had gone hunting with several friends and turned back complaining of pains in his chest. The friends hunted all day and found on their return to the starting point that ADAMS had failed to appear. They started to search for him and found his body slumped in the snow about 100 yards from where they had parted earlier in the day. Death was attributed to heart failure. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Retta ADAMS and by his daughter, Mrs. Pearl BOWLING and two younger sons at home. Mr ADAMS worked on mine 83 and 84 in the Vicco section and was well known there.
