Hazard Herald, Thursday, May 17, 1934 William Stidham Is Shot And Killed By Allison White William STIDHAM, 28 years old, electrician for the Kentucky Block Coal Company, was shot to death at 1:30 o'colock in front of the Hetrick's store at Clemons. Allison WHITE, 63 years old, is charged with the killing. A family grudge is said to be behind the slaying. Evidence presented before the coroner was that WHITE shot five times. STIDHAM had four wounds in the body and one in the face. WHITE had been in the store about 10 minutes when he saw STIDHAM approching, according to witnesses, and as STIDHAM neared the store door WHITE opened fire. At a preliminary hearing before County Judge A.M. GROSS at 1:00 o'clock Tuesday. WHITE was held to the grand jury without bond. Funeral and burial services for STIDHAM were conducted at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon. (Lynda's note: I have William Stidham married to Adelia Combs, but I don't have her parents)
